GNS Technical Director, David Brown announces retirement
David Brown has put in his official notice of retirement effective June 30, 2021. As you may know, David has been the Technical Director at GNS since February 1st, 2016 and has been heavily involved in gymnastics in this province and the country for approximately 45 years in various capacities.
David’s technical leadership especially in the areas of coaching, club and athlete development has been incredibly valuable to GNS, GymCan, and Sport NS and he will be missed by all!
I want to take this opportunity to thank David for his incredible knowledge and dedication to the sport of gymnastics. We are very fortunate to have had him work in the TD capacity for 5 years and in various other capacities for 40. He has graciously offered to continue to offer his services as a Learning Facilitator and Coach Evaluator and also to assist in the transitioning of the new TD.
On behalf of GNS, I want to wish David the best of luck in a well-deserved retirement and express my sincere gratitude for his years of service and many contributions to gymnastics and sport in Nova Scotia and in Canada. I know I will certainly miss him as a co-worker and a friend.
We will begin the search for David’s replacement in the coming weeks and will communicate any further information at that time.
